History

The Economic Opportunity Foundation, Inc. has been existence since 1965.  The Economic Opportunity Foundation, Inc. (E.O.F.) is a Community Action Agency, one of eight (8) throughout the State of Kansas.  E.O.F. was established in 1965 as a result of the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964. We have been helping people to help themselves for almost forty-four (44) yeas through its Community Services and Head Start Programs.

 

OUR MISSION:

 To mobilize necessary resources to address the causes and conditions of poverty in Wyandotte County. To assist low-income residents in moving towards self-sufficiency

 

Economic Opportunity Foundation, Inc. In Action: 2008

 

  • Provided Safe and Affordable Early Education Opportunities To 810 Children

  • Helped 536 families obtain funds needed to pay rent, monthly mortgage and/or utility bills

  • Provided supports to 536 disabled individuals to help them remain in their own homes
