A Message From Our Executive Director.....
Greetings to all:
A discretionary grant funded by the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation allowed the agency the opportunity to partner with the United Way of Wyandotte County to conduct a comprehensive Community Needs Assessment (CNA).
On June 7, 2011 a presentation of the data and a panel discussion was held that involved government and community leaders. Over 150 people attended the event hosted by Donnelly College. Tough questions were asked but most important, panelists were challenged to move forward and produce outcomes based on the assessment results.
In the near future it is anticipated that task forces will be established to address the results of the assessment. Our agency will use the data to identify additional services, grants and collaborations that will continue to directly impact the citizens of Wyandotte County.
The Economic Opportunity Foundation, Inc. has served the residents of Wyandotte County for more than 45 years and we are committed to remain a viable entity in the community.
As we move forward in this endeavor we recognize the need to provide resources through partnerships and continue to identify ways in which to maximize the use of agency resources.
We realize the immediate future holds many challenges as funding sources are requiring additional reporting criteria and outcomes based initiatives. We view the challenges as an opportunity to provide quality services and welcome the opportunity to continue in this regard.
